Group Coaching
You don’t really feel like you know what you’re doing. You’re starting a business, or you’ve been running a business for a while, and while you could bumble forward, you’d really appreciate some expert perspective. What’s most important to tackle first? What tactics are successful and what just wastes time?
Group coaching is here to clear the path and propel you forward! You might be in need of some business training, but you’d also like the material to be more tailored to your unique process. In the small-group setting, we can address all those nebulous questions that are intrinsic to the life of self-employed people. Your peers will give you insight and a sense of community while you get the support to make progress towards your self-employment goals. Working with a coach is like wearing a jet pack. What needs to happen becomes clear and achievable. Progress is made every week.
How Does Group Coaching Work?
New groups form every two or three months. Each group is comprised of members who have topics of interest in common and each group shares its name with one of the stars in the night sky. I’ll gather information about what you’re looking for in a group at your Free Initial Consultation Session. You’ll commit to group coaching by paying your deposit or starting with one-on-one coaching and letting me know you’d prefer a group.
Star groups are limited to 6 people so that I’m able to offer the individualized attention that will help you achieve your goals. There is no set curriculum, so the small size and common interests allow me to present relevant and tailored content to each group. Star groups typically meet weekly at the same time each week. (e.g. Mondays at 3 pm via Zoom.) They only ever meet between the hours of 10:30am and 5:30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays. Group coaching includes free access to The Launch Pad, a members-only area of my website.
Star groups naturally shift on a monthly cadence. If you ever feel that your star group is not meeting your needs, please let me know as soon as you are able. There might be a better fit for you in another star group, or your concern might be fuel for a generative shift for your present group. I recommend you plan to participate in group coaching for at least 3 months in order to reap the rewards. Beyond those 3 months, you can participate in group coaching for as long as you find it beneficial. Let me know at the beginning of a month cycle if you intend for it to be your last month.
If you have any questions or concerns about Group Coaching, please feel free to book a Free Initial Consultation Session so that we can discuss.
Rates
Group coaching is $360 per month for weekly 60-minute sessions and is billed monthly in advance of service. If a star group meets less frequently then the rate is prorated accordingly, but still billed in advance. There is no sliding scale available for group sessions.
The First Step: Schedule an Initial Consultation Session!
I wouldn’t want you to commit to something without being sure about it! The Free Initial Consultation Session is a chance to figure out if we work well together. It’s how I gather information about your business and what support would be helpful to you in a group. It’s also helpful if you’re trying to decide if Group Coaching or One-on-one coaching is a better fit for your needs. Let’s take this free 30min session and you can get a taste of my coaching style and I’ll learn about your business. Coaching is best viewed as a long-term investment since it hinges on a process of personal growth, but I expect you’ll see the benefit opportunities immediately. And, if you don’t see the benefit, then I’m super glad we figured that out!
After your initial session, you’ll reserve your spot in a group by either participating in weekly one-on-one coaching OR providing a deposit. Either way, I’ll be in touch as the group comes together.
Absences & Timing
Meeting dates and times are pre-planned and cannot be rescheduled. If you cannot attend a meeting, you will be expected to use the recording of the meeting to bring yourself up to speed. There is no refund or credit granted for missing a meeting. If I learn that a majority of other group members cannot make a scheduled meeting, I may push the schedule back by a week. If I’m not notified in advance and only one member is in attendance, the session will be treated as if a one-on-one session; it will not be recorded and no refund or credits granted to those not in attendance.
Star groups will be assigned/scheduled with your scheduling needs in mind. Groups will always meet no earlier than 10:00 am Pacific Time, and no later than 4:30 pm Pacific Time (for a session end time of 5:30 pm Pacific Time.) Groups will only meet on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays.
Location
Group coaching sessions are held remotely via Zoom. You’ll be provided a zoom link in your confirmation email after scheduling.
Accessibility
The group dynamic assumes all members will have their video on and are able to communicate in real-time (verbally and/or textually.) Sessions are 1 hour long and do not have a planned break. All group sessions are recorded and provided to group members, attendees and those absent, within 24hrs. Closed captioning is available. Files are disseminated using google drive, google docs, google sheets, and PDF. If you have any accessibility concerns that are not well addressed here, please let me know and I’ll see what I can do to ensure your ability to participate.
